About Us

We create timeless storybook companions and hand illustrated homes inspired by the gentle rhythm of village life.

Designed in England, Mimkin grew from a love of classic children’s literature. We believe in the simple joy of screen free imagination, and our wish is to welcome little ones into a whimsical village world to explore at their own pace.

Everyone is welcome in Mimkin Hollow. Bring one character home, and in time, a quiet shelf or cosy corner can grow into a village of its own, with each new friend adding another story to tell.

Mimkin began while I was on maternity leave, whilst getting ready to welcome our son into the world. I found myself thinking more and more about the world he was arriving into. When I think of modernity I think of screens, disconnected communities, disposable plastic and I found myself dreaming of a simpler time.

I returned to the books I loved as a child, and living in the city, I wanted my son to have access to a cosy, quieter world. I began sketching characters and sewing the first prototypes and slowly, a village started to form.

Mimkin Hollow is a world of cobblestone lanes, bake sales and rubber duck races, small, slow and unserious enough to get lost in and I hope you enjoy exploring it!
